According to media reports, a bomb exploded at police station 26 in the Pudahuel neighborhood of Santiago, Chile, on the night of May 16, 2008. Initial reports indicated a series of damages in the area but police later claimed it was only a noise bomb.
The attack was claimed by the Anti-Authoritarian Insurrectionary Cell Jhonny Cariqueo Yañez with a May 18, 2008, communication entitled, “Revenge for the death of Jhonny Cariqueo Yañez: We attacked the executioners of police station 26.”
